The Registry

These walls once held the record of a growing city.

Built in 1873–1874, Ottawa’s former City Registry Office safeguarded the deeds, surveys, mortgages, and land records that shaped the capital.

Its brickwork, arched openings, and vaulted interior endured as its purpose evolved—from Registry, to historical museum, to the city’s tourist and convention centre. The building received heritage designation in 1978.

Today

A new chapter begins within them.

The Experience

The evening,
considered.

There is no need to rush here. A table held in warm light. A bottle opened at the right moment. A pour chosen with care.

Cellars is designed around the shape of an evening—attentive service, quiet conversation, and the pleasure of staying a little longer.
